What is a psychological evaluation?
An official diagnosis is established through a diagnostic assessment or psychological evaluation. This includes a formal ‘DSM classification’ of the symptoms you experience. For example, whether they are best explained by an autism diagnosis, ADHD, or something else. Additionally, you will also receive a descriptive diagnosis that explains what your difficulties are and why.

For example, we often see women who are only diagnosed with ADHD later in life, because they taught themselves many coping and compensation strategies that have not been recognized by previous practitioners. This often has major consequences for the person’s course of life and daily functioning.
In addition, we conduct thorough assessments that explore various parts of your personality and symptoms. We don’t just look at whether or not you have one specific diagnosis, but assess you as a whole person. This gives you a more complete picture of where your symptoms are coming from. You will also receive a comprehensive psychological report from us at the end of the evaluation.
Complete privacy
Because we provide private care, we can guarantee complete privacy and confidentiality: your report will only be shared with you. Unlike in reimbursed care, your diagnosis is not registered in any external system or disclosed to anyone else.
How much does a psychological assessment cost?
The cost of a complex assessment plus is 2727 euros. A complex plus assessment is based on broad diagnostics. This is the regular diagnostic procedure.
Intelligence testing is not part of the diagnostic process, but can be requested separately. Please contact us for more information.
If you choose a direct registration including pre-intake you receive a discount, meaning a complex assessment plus is 2785 euros (instead of 2727 euro + the costs of a separate pre-intake).
For an express assessment there is a surcharge of +100%. For in-office sessions there is an additional surcharge.
A psychological evaluation at Bzonder is a standalone trajectory without treatment and is not covered by your health care insurance. Our clients either pay for the assessment themselves or receive a (partial) reimbursement through their employer. Are you a self-employed person? If the trajectory qualifies as a business expense, you may be eligible for tax benefits. This potentially can reduce the costs by up to half.
It is always at the discretion of Bzonder to determine which type of evaluation is most appropriate for your situation.
What does a diagnostic assessment look like?
Prior to your first appointment, you will receive several questionnaires that you are required to complete in advance. The process begins with a (pre-intake and) intake session, divided into two parts, where we ask you various questions about yourself, your environment, your past, and your outlook on life. The third and fourth appointments involve psychodiagnostic questionnaires or other relevant testing materials. A family member who knew you and your behavior as a child well, is usually involved in this process too. Additionally, you will have a consultation with a second intake specialist.
Once all the information has been reviewed, you will have a meeting with the intake specialist to discuss the findings, and you will receive your psychological report. You can review this report at home, after which there will be further contact to discuss any feedback you may have on the report.
Depending on your specific diagnostic needs, your process may differ slightly from what is described here. All online consultations will be conducted via video call. Only if intelligence or neuropsychological testing is required will a single in-person appointment be necessary.
